The Energy We Deserve

Overview

As governments and businesses transition to electric vehicles, our centuries-old electricity grid will struggle to keep up with the demand from these new energy consumers. ElectricFish is building and deploying battery-integrated EV chargers at gas stations to support the transportation sector’s transition to EVs without compromising the grid’s resilience. Our patented, grid-friendly technology uses software optimization to deliver ultrafast EV charging (up to 100 miles of range in 5 minutes) without requiring grid upgrades and provide backup power to utilities when they become overwhelmed. We’re a fast-growing, mission-oriented team currently preparing manufacturing prototypes.

We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to design, implement, maintain, and troubleshoot the cloud infrastructure supporting ElectricFish’s advanced software platforms. This role ensures the reliable, scalable, and secure operation of complex systems, including our ETL pipeline, edge-embedded software, and machine learning cloud platform. The DevOps Engineer will also support smooth operations and resolve bugs across a multi-cloud environment.

Duties Include

  • Architecting and maintaining multi-cloud infrastructure across Azure, AWS, and GCP to enable seamless integration between ETL pipelines, edge devices, and cloud-based ML platforms.
  • CI/CD Pipelines: Developing and managing pipelines for deploying containerized services (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Monitoring and Logging: Setting up and maintaining monitoring tools (Azure Monitor Logs, Grafana) and managing system logs for debugging and analytics.
  • Cloud Security: Ensuring cloud infrastructure complies with industry security standards, including encryption, IAM, and secure software practices.
  • Automation: Implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with tools like Terraform to automate provisioning, scaling, and disaster recovery.
  • Error Resolution: Identifying and resolving bugs across the system’s components, from data ingestion (ETL pipeline) to forecasting and optimization (ML cloud platform).
  • System Optimization: Monitoring performance to reduce costs and enhance scalability, ensuring the system meets the operational demands of ElectricFish’s charging infrastructure.
  • Collaboration: Working closely with software engineers, data scientists, and operations teams to ensure infrastructure aligns with technical and business objectives.
Core Qualifications

  • Experience: 4+ years in a DevOps role, managing cloud-native applications in distributed architectures.
  • Certifications: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert or similar certifications are a plus.
  • Preferred: Experience with energy systems, IoT, or mission-critical applications.
  • Proficiency with:
    • Cloud Services: Azure Service Bus, Logic Apps, Cosmos DB, Container Instances, Azure Monitor Logs, or equivalents on AWS/GCP.
    • Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, ARM templates, or similar tools.
    • Containerization: Docker and Kubernetes for orchestration.
    • Monitoring Tools: Grafana, Azure Monitor, and Prometheus.
    • Scripting languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation.
    • Debugging tools and techniques for distributed systems.
    • Cloud security and best practices for ensuring robust, compliant systems.
