Frequently Asked Questions
To offer the chargers free of charge, ElectricFish leverages state and federal grant programs that reduce the cost of building and deploying them. These programs stipulate a max number of sites per application round. For this Washington submission, we’re limited to 10 locations. Once we have 10 commitments, we must close applications for this round.
Federal and state grants cover part of the costs, and ElectricFish covers the remainder. We earn revenue from charging fees, and you receive a share of that revenue.
Yes. MotorTrend stress-tested our Turbo Charge system during their SUV of the Year evaluations in the Mojave Desert. It delivered over 1,100 kWh across 37 sessions in triple-digit heat. We’ve also been validated by Hyundai at their California Proving Grounds, BurningMan at the Black Rock Desert and Toyota Mobility Foundation in Detroit.
No. Our Turbo Charge system includes battery storage and only draws about 30 kilowatts from your grid – similar to a few window AC units. We will install a separate meter to isolate from your bill. Traditional chargers need 150-400 kilowatts and require expensive utility upgrades.
Installation itself happens in hours. There will be a simple permitting process and installation of a separate meter, which takes a couple of weeks, depending on the municipality. MotorTrend noted in their review that our technology doesn’t require expensive utility upgrades, which is why we can deploy much faster than traditional chargers (12-18 months).
ElectricFish handles all maintenance and repairs at no cost to you. We provide 24/7 monitoring and support.
No. It’s a non-binding statement of interest that allows us to include your location in the Turbo Charge program. You’ll review and sign a detailed agreement later if your location is prioritized, and if your location is included in our submission for state or federal grant programs.
