Frequently Asked Questions
We believe that EV drivers want the same convenience that gas-powered cars offer when fueling. If your location is high-traffic, we’ll both make money – no need to charge you for that. Additionally, some sites may be eligible for federal and/or state grants, which cover part of the costs, while ElectricFish covers the remainder. We earn revenue from charging fees, and you receive a share of that revenue.
To offer the chargers free of charge, ElectricFish may leverage state and federal grant programs that reduce the cost of building and deploying them. These programs stipulate eligibility requirements, such as max distance from a major highway, and max number of sites per application round. We will let you know if your site is eligible. But if you want to put money down in order to be prioritized, let us know on the form.
Yes. MotorTrend stress-tested our Turbo Charge system during their SUV of the Year evaluations in the Mojave Desert. It delivered over 1,100 kWh across 37 sessions in triple-digit heat. We’ve also been validated by Hyundai at their California Proving Grounds, BurningMan at the Black Rock Desert and Toyota Mobility Foundation in Detroit.
No. Our Turbo Charge system includes battery storage and only draws about 30 kilowatts from your grid – similar to a few window AC units. We will install a separate meter to isolate from your bill. Traditional chargers need 150-400 kilowatts and require expensive utility upgrades.
Installation itself happens in hours. There will be a simple permitting process and installation of a separate meter, which takes a couple of weeks, depending on the municipality. MotorTrend noted in their review that our technology doesn’t require expensive utility upgrades, which is why we can deploy much faster than traditional chargers (12-18 months).
